story of sumool
sumool started from a name.
and a feeling.
Su (苏) is my surname.
苏木 is a chinese wordplay for wood, trees, roots.
Mool (물) means water in Korean.
Soft. Quiet. life-giving.
Together, sumool is what plants need to live.
Wood and water.
Form and flow.
I started sumool because I like plants that don’t shout.
Plants with shape.
With mood.
With presence.
At sumool, plants are not just plants.
They are soft botanical art.
Each piece is shaped by time, guided by hand, and chosen by feeling.
Not perfect, but calm. A balance of life.
We don’t make many.
We don’t repeat too much.
Most pieces are one-off, or very limited.
Because art should feel personal.
sumool plants are not meant to fill your space.
They are meant to sit quietly in it.
On your desk.
In a corner.
Somewhere your eyes rest.
A small piece of soft botanical art.
For softer days.
